Assuming that you have, at best, two weeks, I would limit my visit to two locations: Sydney and Cairns (Far North Queensland). Sydney is a great city it will be summer. Far North Queensland allows you to sample the Great Barrier Reef and the tropics. Cairns is a tourist town. Port Douglas is a more upscale resort.
