I just had a marvelous trip to Paris to visit my daughter in May. I stayed at the Grand Hotel Saint Michel. The hotel was a nice accomodation in the medium price range located in the Latin Quarter. It was fairly close to my daughter's university, which she truly appreciated since she lives with a family in the 16th. The weather was colder than normal for May, and rainy for 7 of the 10 days. There was much talk about it being a delayed winter. As of Friday June 2, my daughter reports that the weather has not improved very much. However, the Latin Quarter was much more pleasant to walk with fewer people about due to the weather.

The Musée de l'Orangerie is open once again. However, most of the Musee national d'Art moderne-Centre Georges Pompidou is closed for rehab.

I will be leaving at the end of June for another trip to France. I will be spending a few days in Paris before departing for a road trip through Brittany and Normandy. Does anyone have advice as to the best location in Paris pick up the rental car? I don't want to drive in the city center of Paris where my hotel is located. I plan to use Auto Europe as suggested by many in this group.

Any advice would be appreciated.
